How To

What is a Battery Pack? How do I replace it?

A battery pack provides the primary power source for the motors in your drone. They are powerful enough to keep your quadcopter flying safely and smoothly.

The difference in the battery pack between a drone you already own and a new one that you purchase will not be noticeable. However, the battery pack will eventually wear down. The battery pack may eventually stop working. You will need to replace the battery in your drone to ensure it continues to function properly.

It is recommended to use the original replacement part when replacing a battery. Installing a defective battery pack can cause damage to your drone.

To replace a battery pack, follow these steps:

  1. Disconnecting the battery connector cable is a good idea. This ensures your drone doesn’t receive any electricity. You can simply remove the battery connector cable from your drone to disconnect it.
  2. Unscrew the battery pack. Remove the battery pack from your quadcopter's bottom. The battery usually separates into two parts.
  3. Find the battery contacts. Look for the contacts after you've removed your battery pack. These pins attach the battery to the other parts of the drone.
  4. Next, attach the new battery. Next, you will need to install the battery into the drone. Align the connectors for the battery pack on each side. After that, attach the battery pack to the drone. Once done, tighten the bolts holding the battery pack in place.
  5. Connect the battery connector cable again. After installing the new battery pack, reconnect the battery connector cable to the drone.
  6. You should test your drone. Make sure your drone is still working properly before you take it out again. If it does, then congratulations!
